Aston Manor 1s too strong for Walmley 2s

Saturday 15 August 2020
2s travelled to Aston Manor and batted first. A slow start and 3 wickets down, Aston Manor was looking to finish this game early. However, a quick partnership from Kaash Patel (22) and Alex Gower (34), who both started their innings with a four through the covers, looked to turn the game around. This wasn’t the case as Aston Manor managed to get a number of wickets in quick succession and was on track to keeping us below 100 at one point. Lewis Hoffman again managed to help the team with his 26* down the order however we finished 147 all out.

Aston Manor didn’t look to settle into their innings as they came attacking the opening bowlers. Unable to break the partnerships and a quiet field, Manor chased down the runs within 25 overs with 6 wickets left; 2 wickets coming from Sinel Gunarathne (one good catch by skipper Dan Bromley at mid wicket) and 1 each for Max Southgate and David Clough. Walmley 2s are still looking to find their first win of the season and look to seek revenge against Manor next week as they play them again at home.
