Sunday 1st travelled to Nuneaton and as usual, Walmley batted first (although Jamie Hall did lose the toss again).
After a quick wicket, Ethan Guinivan (23) and Kaash Patel (49) put the pressure back on the opposition scoring quickly on a sticky wicket. However, a quick collapse of wickets slowly got Nuneaton back in the game until Max Southgate allowed us to recover scoring 38. Walmley finished all out for 196.
Intervals of rain between the innings meant Nuneaton had to get 177 in 36 overs. Two quick wickets, one from David Clough (1-24/6) and Kiefer Woods (1-21/6) put Nuneaton on the back foot. Tables turned as it took a long time to get the 3rd wicket and the game was now all to play for. Almost needing 8 an over in the last 5 overs to win the game, some controversial wides caused the game to be decided in the last over where the opposition only required 4 to win.
Unfortunately, we lost but now we hope to bounce back with a win next week. Wickets also came Dinuk (1-24/7.1), Alex Carey (1-31/5) and Callum Herron (2-35/6).
