Our club is renowned for its high-quality cricket pitches, providing excellent playing conditions for both competitive matches and training sessions. The John Findlay Memorial Ground, the home of Walmley Cricket, boasts well-maintained wickets and outfields, ensuring an enjoyable experience for players at all levels.
The club takes great pride in the quality of its grounds, with careful attention to pitch preparation, making it a favoured venue for local leagues and tournaments. Whether for senior teams or youth players, the pitches offer a perfect setting for skill development and high-performance play.
Walmley Cricket Club Junior Section
At Walmley Cricket Club, we offer a thriving Junior Cricket programme for children aged 4-5 through to 13-14 years. Our Junior Cricket Club provides coaching, development, and competitive opportunities in a fun and supportive environment.
Senior Cricket at Walmley Cricket Club
Walmley Cricket Club offers a dynamic Senior Cricket programme that caters to players of all skill levels. With multiple teams across both Saturday and Sunday matches, there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved and enjoy the game.
Women’s Cricket Teams
The club fields a senior women’s cricket team that achieved promotion to the West Midlands League Division 1 in their first season under a new setup. They secured promotion by winning their final game against Knowle and Dorridge, accumulating 200 points out of a possible 250 for the season
at Walmley Cricket Club
Walmley Cricket Club offers a dynamic and structured junior cricket program that caters to children from Reception Year through to Under-18s. Our club has been fostering young cricket talent since 1886 and continues to provide opportunities for young players to develop their skills in a friendly, supportive environment.
We run comprehensive coaching sessions throughout the summer months (April to August). These sessions are designed to help young players improve their skills, develop their game, and have fun!
To ensure our junior cricketers continue their development throughout the year, we offer winter training starting in mid-January. These sessions are held at excellent facilities and are open to all ages. The Winter training venues are: Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School, Sutton Coldfield, Landau Forte Academy QEMS, Tamworth
Cost: £40 per month for three months which covers the duration of the winter training program, this is just £10 a session and coaching will be provided by Jakeman’s Professional Cricket Coaching (This cost includes family associate membership).

Here at Walmley we offer a comprehensive senior cricket program catering to a range of interests and commitments. To participate, all players must be club members, with options including Single, Joint, or Family memberships. You can join the club by completing the membership application available below.
Senior cricket coaching sessions are offered including winter and summer nets. The winter nets typically span 12 weeks, while summer nets last for 16 weeks. Specific dates and times for these are announced annually.
Winter Training begins mid-January at Bishops Vesey’s Grammar School and Landau Forte Academy.
After prepping the grounds, cleaning nets and refreshing kits. Pre-season warm-up matches occur before the Warwickshire Cricket League starts in late April.
Throughout the summer senior matches occur on the weekends at John Findlay Memorial Ground and Court Lane.
The season is then wrapped up with a 6-a-side tournament of all ages, followed up with a presentation evening and various social events through late September.
Cost: £75 for the season (includes coaching until the end of August, junior membership of the club, and family associate membership).
