Fantastic Game of Cricket for U8s

Sunday 26th July.

Walmley U8s vs West Brom Dartmouth

Our first match at Court Lane on Sunday morning. The rain the day before made us anxious if the game was going to be one. But the weather held off. Bryan captained the team, and lost the toss. WB Dartmouth decided to put us in to bat first.

The top order did well all making positive scores. Then Bryan came in and made 18 runs, he played positive hitting some big shots and a lovely 6 to put Walmley in the driving seat. Walmley ended up with a strong total of 261 for WB Dartmouth to get.

Walmley bowled tightly against the first 3 pairs. Once again Daniel bowling tightly and taking a brilliant catch off his own bowling WB Dartmouth required 23 runs off 4 overs. Bryan and Umer bowled well under pressure. Bryan took a great catch on the boundary off WB Dartmouth’s best batsman to pile the pressure on. Then in the last over requiring 7 runs off 6 balls. Bryan bowling the death over, pushed WB Dartmouth right to the end, with them requiring 1 run off the last ball of the innings.

Unfortunately for Walmley it wasn’t our day, and WB Dartmouth got what they needed.

What a fantastic game of cricket!

Ready to bounce back for our next fixture against local rivals Sutton Coldfield CC Under 10s.
