Sunday 1s played again Midland Lankans and skipper Jamie Hall had a change of luck, winning the toss and electing to bat first.
Similar to last week, Jamie Hall (82*) and Jono Newis (72) both stepped up to the plate after a quick fall of wickets, allowing us to reach 229 in 40 overs.
Great start in the field for the boys as 3 wickets picked up by Peter Shackleford and 2 by Ryan Delport made Walmley feel on top. However, a long partnership approaching drinks slowly turned the tables around. The argument for bad light and heavy rain forced us to race through the overs trying to reduce the oppositions run rate down (in order to win if the game gets called off). After drinks, there was no immediate wicket. However, Dinuk de Silva managed to get their main man out with a good catch from Jono at long on in the poor lighting and we were back in it. Suddenly, only one wicket was needed to win the game. And the opposition were furious the game was still going on. But we kept pushing, and a patient Jono finally got the last man out from his tight bowling giving us another win. Well done boys.
