Tonight was a real test for my new heart!

After losing on Sunday to our local friendly rivals Four Oaks we had to dust ourselves off and face one of the strongest teams in the league. Milly Freeman led the team tonight, won the toss and elected to field. Putting herself out to open the bowling Milly took the 1st wicket with the 2nd ball. Aqsa and Rhea took the next 3 overs and restricted the score to 209-2 off 4. Amy only gave away 5 runs from her 2 leg spin overs and 4 more wickets were taken by Rhea, Aqsa, Amber and Ellie. Solihull scored 278-5.

Batting needed to be strong tonight. Aqsa and Ellie were the 1st pair to face the excellent bowling of Samah, Tash and Paige. 1st pair scored 221 with the loss of one wicket. Amy and Amber came out 2nd pair and pushed the score to 235. Milly and Rhea thought it was Friday night at Eldon Drive with some exciting mini league batting and pushed us up to 264-5. With 15 runs needed up stepped Esther and Faye. I can honestly say that I have never seen 2 girls bat so intelligently. The last over Faye (Under 11) had to face Samah with a 7 run lead. Faye dotted out every single ball. Walmley 285-5

Milly – well done for stepping up and being a great captain tonight and top scorer with 17 runs.

Esther – great to see you in the gloves and keeping our wicket.

All The girls should be very proud of their efforts tonight. Some great cricket from both sets of girls.

Come on you Wammers!
