Match Date: Saturday 4th May
Type: Warwickshire County Cricket League Premier Division
Location: Coventry & North Warwickshire
Report: Michael Waugh, captain
The first XI travelled away to Coventry and North Warwickshire this week. Losing the toss we were asked to bat and lost a couple of early wickets. This brought together Mo Sheikh and Sammy Bhatti. They grafted out a partnership of 96 on a tough wicket to score on. Unfortunately from there on we lost regular wickets and failed to accelerate in the final overs meaning we managed a total of 176. We felt this was slightly below par but we were still in the game if we bowled well.
Our bowling innings started off with 2 early wickets. Coventry then had a partnership which took them to drinks and left them in a similar position to us. After drinks brilliant spells and crucial wickets from Mo Sheikh and Roshan Balaji swung the game our way. Unfortunately we were unable to take the remaining 2 wickets to secure the win but we did come away with a winning draw and 15 points. A good result against a decent side.
