Return Match for U8s vs Streetly

Wednesday 5th August 6pm Court Lane

The return leg was looking a little dicey with the heavy rainfall at 4pm, but for some reason the Court Lane ground was completely dry and stayed that way! Game on.

Streetly was looking for revenge after last Sunday to play the return leg at Walmley. Once again Streetly asking to play 10 a side pairs. Tommy captained the side lost the toss but strangely, we were put into bat first especially with the dark weather conditions later in the evening. It was strong batting with all players contributing and Ariyan scoring 21. Walmley ended with a total of 290.

Streetly came to bat with confidence. But Walmley had other ideas, Eddie bowling tight and a debut from George showing no nerves bowling well too. Freddie was well rested from his holiday and was ready for his first game back, and bowled amazingly! Bowling 2 overs, 1 maiden, 4 runs and 3 wickets! At one point he was on a hatrick! Bryan once again with his brilliant figures of 2 overs, 2 runs for 2 wickets bowling at their big hitting batsman. There were some very good run outs from the team adding to the pressure. Streetly ended with a total of 187.

This was probably one of the best fielding displays from this team. Every player backing up in the field and encouraging the bowlers. This is the 4th win in a row. The team is looking forward to the match against WB Dartmouth on Sunday, the last time we played them it went down to the wire!
