Game Summary

First Half

The second match of the day started with the team of Captain Cohen who played in defence, Zac, Fisayo and Kyrie in midfield and Tyler in defence.

The game starts in a dynamic fashion with Kyrie flossing with excitement for his first time playing out of goal. Kyrie started the match with a kick which was soon deflected into our own half. Cohen started his defence well with a good clearance.

The pressure was put on by White Eagles as they pushed and pushed at goal. Tyler saved a superb effort from the opposition from the edge of the box.
The game turned into a midfield battle for a few minutes where no balls got very far before being defended well by each team. And no run on’s, something we were used to in the previous match.

Zac battled in the box for a while but just no luck or goals were coming our way.

Cohen took on some more good defending and a few interesting tackles.
Kyrie took on the game enjoying the battle which was ahead of him on many occasions.

The ball was then dangerously heading for towards goal, but Zac charged down the field at supersonic speed to defend the ball but took a kick to the knee in his battle and was down. Zac is subbed for Jake.

Jake is back in the position he loves and Cohen moves to midfield.

Fisayo then makes a long run through the tough defence to hit wide of goal.

Cohen move to midfield proves beneficial to the team and he seems very much comfortable in this position. Kyrie runs well to take on the ball but is meet by the oppositions defence.

Fisayo then takes a throw in which is just short of a goal.

Jake then makes one of the best defends of the game and in the words of Conner’s mum “Nothing is getting past him”.

Half time comes and a change in the team.

Second Half

Conner is now in goal, Fisayo is off and Zac is back on (recovered from his injury, which re-hurt once we got home and is asking to go to hospital lol). Jake continues to play in defence, Cohen in midfield and Ollie in midfield too.

Jake starts the game with the hype dance before White Eagles kick off.
There is early pressure from the Eagles which is cleared by Jake.

Zac then receives the ball, the speed by Zac down the wing would challenge Usain Bolt’s 100 metre world record. Unfortunately, the defence was strong and no way through in the box.

Ollie was highly charged and focused to intercept any balls in their half. Ollie made tackles after tackles to stop the balls going by goal and on the odd occasion it did then Conner was there to make the save.

Jacob was now on the field for Jake and did well with Ollie to stop the balls in addition to making some good throw ins.

This was a tough game for Colron and it was all about defence for most of this half.

Zac had a corner from his half which he crossed into the opposition’s box just a fraction from goal.

Ollie dominated in defence with an array of great interceptions, turns and clearances.

In a rare breakaway ball for Zac in the last minute he fought to goal to get a shot at target which was saved and dropped by the goalkeeper. Cohen was there to shoot, and the goalkeeper saved. But was it over the line or not? That will be the debate as we all drive home from the game.

This game proved tough where we were stretched across the field, but the players did not disappoint at all and the skill they showed up and down the field for the whole game was commendable.

The player of the match trophy, for the two matches, is awarded by Jake’s Nan to Fisayo for his fight and determination for his hattrick in match 1 and for his defending well of the ball. Well done Fisayo! (Can’t wait to for the debate between Fisayo parents next week of who gets to choose the player of the match.)

Next Game: Sunday 22nd September at 10:30 against Pelsall Villa at Grace Academy.
