On a nice hot summer Saturday afternoon, Wolvey visited Walmley, and after winning the toss they elected to bat. The Walmley bowlers started with great application and line length with Wolvey 24 for 4 in their first 10 overs, Perry Henderson and Jacob Clarke bowled a brilliant opening spell with some wicket taking deliveries.
The opposition middle order had a very good 83 runs partnership between S. Lawrance and J. Moore making 32 and 54 respectively.
The Walmley spinners bowled well enough to keep the run rate under 4 most of the time. After the second drinks break, the opposition keep losing wickets and ended up with a very low total on a decent wicket to finish with 132 all out.

T. Mohammed 9 overs for 4 wkts.
Walmley started their innings with very positive Alex Gower and Yusuf Khalil making the right start, unfortunately Alex was run out at the score of 35 in the 12th over. Then young Sinel Gunaratne and Yusuf Khalil batted with care and kept up the required run rate to get to the small total.
Ethan Guinivan making a solid contribution of 21, Alex Gower 27, and Tariq Mohammed 24, Atif Khalil 9* and Max Southgate 6* who posted the winning runs.
Walmley are 4th in the table at halfway through the season. With a young side, we are blossoming the youngsters with great determination and a mindset to go all the way.
Next week we travel to Watery Lane to play against Earlswood in an away fixture.
